Hey there, and welcome to Forty & Fathering — a space for dads like me who came to this wild ride of fatherhood a little later in life.
Maybe you’ve already done the career grind, changed a few tires (and perspectives), and now you find yourself rocking a baby to sleep at 2 a.m. with a stiff back and a full heart. Or maybe you’ve just welcomed your first child at 42 and are wondering how to juggle diapers, deadlines, and doctor visits—without losing your mind (or your marriage).
I see you. And this space is for us.
Why Forty & Fathering?
I started this blog because I couldn’t find many places where late-blooming dads could talk honestly about what it’s like to raise young children while navigating midlife.
We don’t parent the same way we would have in our 20s—and that’s actually a strength. We have more perspective, patience, and purpose. But we also face unique challenges: aging bodies, work-life tension, legacy questions, and the quiet fear of “Am I too old for this?”
This blog isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present. It’s about learning how to show up for our kids, our partners, and ourselves—fully, honestly, and consistently.
What to Expect
Each week, you’ll find thoughtful posts on topics like:

A Personal Invitation
If this resonates with you—if you’ve ever felt like the “older guy” at the playground or the “seasoned dad” in the parenting group—I invite you to subscribe, comment, and join the conversation.

You’re right on time.
Let’s build something real together.
